Why Australian Labor Party has a crisis of identity

If it is to be any chance at the next federal election, the ALP must return to its roots and stand up for the nation and the middle and working classes.


Our political era is characterised by the rise of identity politics. Yet there are two foundational identities modern Labor has been undervaluing: class and nationhood.


This represents an identity crisis.
